New National Minimum and National Living Wages

The National Minimum Wage and National Living Wage increases from 1st April 2021.

The new hourly rates depend on the age of your employees and if they are an apprentice.

If you are an employer you should review all employees’ salaries and ensure that their rates comply with the following rises: -

23 and over  £8.91
21 to 22 Inclusive £8.36
18 to 20 Inclusive £6.56
Under 18 (but above compulsory school leaving age) £4.62
Apprentices (under 19 or 19 and over in their first year of their apprenticeship) £4.30

The annual minimum salary rate for an employee aged 23 or over to comply with the new levels would be £17,374.50 based on them working 37.5 hours per week.
